New Volunteer Reward Program

Charter Schools in Utah are excellent for our kids and a part of that success is the 30 hours each family volunteers each year!  As stated in the LLA website, "parental involvement is a crucial element in student success".  Also Charter Schools provide an "opportunity for parents to participate significantly in school governance and operation."
0Read more in the FAQ section on www.llacharter.org)

The PTO has developed incentives to reward you when you reach these 30 hours (per family)!
This is a brand-new program that is for the entire 2014-15 School Year:

At 30 hours, you will receive a free LLA Vinyl Decal!

At 40 hours, you will receive a free LLA shirt
(any size)

At 50 hours, your name will be entered for our
GRAND PRIZE DRAWING
at the end of the school year!

*Note that the incentive rewards are for volunteer hours only and not donations.
To login your volunteer hours, you can enter in your hours at school or at home.  For detailed instructions on how to use the volunteer software, click HERE.

Need some ideas to reach your 30 hours or more?
Here are some ways to volunteer and get more involved:

* Contact your Class Captain to volunteer in the classroom
* Attend a PTO meeting (3rd Tuesday each month)
* Help sell shirts on the 1st Thursday of each month before or after school
* Volunteer for "Snack Friday" on the 2nd Friday each month, includes handling money and helping to prepare and distribute the snacks.
* Upcoming activities: Book Fairs, Teacher Appreciation Week, Spirit Week, Field Day, etc

*****Incentives are rewarded at each monthly PTO Meeting*****

October 27-28: Last days to buy presale tickets for the Fall Festival. Wristbands, punch cards, and meal tickets will be for sale in front of the library from 1:30-2:00 on Monday and Tuesday. PREPAYING FOR YOUR FOOD GUARANTEES YOUR MEAL. People who have prepaid for their meals can begin getting their food at 5:30. You will need to wait until 6:30 to get your food if you have not prepaid.

October 27-30: SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR. We will have the book fair open to all from 8:00 to 9:00 and then again from 2:00 to 6:00. Our online book fair will run 10/22-11/11. Anything you order from the online book fair will be applied to the total for Leadership Learning Academy. You may access the online book fair at http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/leadershiplearningacademy1. Many books not at the book fair can be found at this site. We look forward to having you participate in our fair, and remember that all purchases benefit our school.

October 30: Book Dress Up Day. We are excited to have our first book dress up day! Students are invited to come to school dressed like their favorite book character. All students that choose to participate will need to follow some rules:
-The student MUST bring the book with their favorite character they are dressed as to school with them. No exceptions!
-All costumes MUST be school appropriate and NOT include weapons, fake blood, or anything that might scare younger children. Remind your students that they go to school with five year olds and we want this to be a positive, fun experience for everyone.
-No masks and only appropriate(non-scary) face make-up. Hats are okay as long as they are a part of the costume and don't cover the face.

October 30: FALL FESTIVAL! Our Fall Festival will run 5:30-8:00 p.m. and there will be food, games, and fun. At 7:30 we will have a special event of duct taping Mrs. B to the wall!! There will also be a silent auction. Dress up in your Halloween costumes and come join us for this fun event! We hope to see you there!!
*If you are able to volunteer at the festival, please email daniellecgoodrich@gmail.com

Please email pto@llacharter.org if you have any questions.
