Reading Incentive Program

The students here at LLA are all encouraged to read or be read to every day for 20 minutes. The PTO would like to chart those minutes and issue the challenge to get to 500,000 minutes, as a school, by April 30, 2014. The reward for reaching the goal?

Skate Night at Classic Fun Center!

Students will be recognized with their photo on the wall for individual milestones. Also, watch out for surprises and rewards throughout the challenge for reaching school-wide milestones.

Choose from these options to report minutes read:

• Use a star reading chart (example pictured below). One copy will be sent home with each student the week of November 4^th. A few extras will be available in each classroom. In addition, you will find a link to the chart on the PTO blog, so you can print it out as needed. Students can bring completed charts to their homerooms, where teachers will have a spot to collect them.

OR

• Send an e-mail to LLAReading1@gmail.com that includes the student’s name and number of minutes read. This can be done on a weekly or monthly basis.

Minutes will be counted and recorded every Friday. Look for the plane flying through the school marking our students’ progress as they FLY AHEAD WITH READING!
